I think it's amazing how one little being can have so many preferences. This might be characteristic of just Benjamin because Kayleigh was not in the least bit particular. Benny has his definite preferences. In fact, he's been so specific since birth that sometimes he refuses to take a bottle from anyone other than Mommy ... Whether it's his ability to smell mom's distinct scent, or just his stubborn refusal to have itEXACTLY the right way, he makes his preferences known. Benjamin also spits up, constantly ... big buckets full of spit. I do about 3 onesies/outfits a day for him and just as many per day for ME. When I put him up on the shoulder to burp him the "traditional" way, I have to quickly cradle him after the burp or I wind up with spit up all over me, him, and the couch. Daddy has convinced him that he can burp bent over, with the burp cloth cupped like a bucket. He does great for Daddy when he burps him that way ... BUT when MOMMY tries it? He holds in the burp until he gets a stomach ache, and I run out of patience and give up. As soon as I put him back on the shoulder he burps right away ... and spits all over me. He then smiles with relief (or satisfaction!), and Mommy puts him down to go change her shirt ... :)
