Last week was the start of our "family nights." Daddy works from approximately 6:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. and then, after the kids are in bed, works more from home (usually until about 10:00). So, finding time when we are all stress free to spend time together is pretty difficult. Steve stole my iPhone a week ago and blocked off days on both of our schedules for some "family night." This includes: making a meal together, eating together, and doing something fun as a foursome. NO iPhones, computers, or technology (unless it's Mickey Mouse watching) allowed. The first night was supposed to be personal pizzas and pumpkin carving. As it would happen the kids really only had the attention span/energy level for one. So, we did pizza making on Wednesday and pumpkin carving on Thursday. Here are some pictures highlights for the memory books:

Pumpkin carving was a little more of a Daddy/Daughter Date. Mommy had to take Benjamin to urgent appointment hours at the pediatrician and then run to Meijer pharmacy to pick up his amoxicillin for the ear infection. So, I missed Kayleigh's first pumpkin carving experience. Fortunately, Steve took some great photos, and Kayleigh had lots to tell me about it. Most commonly heard, "Momma? K's pumpkin is REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY ICKY!!!! REALLY ICKY pumpkin!" But I also heard, "Momma? Daddy make kitty in my pumpkin ..." (It has a cat carved from a stencil .... nice work, Steve!)
